Moments

Posted on October 3, 2024 by Margo Stich

Editor’s Note: Margo’s poem was inspired by her healing from multiple surgeries.

Moment to moment,
Minute by minute,
subtle changes noted.

Sometimes physical,
from touch to aromas.

Other times visual,
As the breeze changes
and rippling waves form.

Then there’s the emotional,
my thoughts wavering,
uncertain and unsure.

I feel, observe,
and remain attentive.

Am I becoming too focused?
Too vigilant?

Margo: I can easily sympathize with you, as I have had multiple orthopedic surgeons and recovery from surgery takes time. Unfortunately, I don’t write poetry, but my goal is to get back out onto the dance floor. Your poem inspires me to move on.

Beautiful words that, I hope, continue to inspire healing.

Thank you for this, Margo! Here’s to when your body heals enough so you are allowed to be distracted by something else.

Thank you for your keen observations. There appears to be comfort in putting feelings into words.

I think it is great to use the healing time to reflect! Perhaps it helps the healing process! You remind us to focus on each moment . Thank you!

What a beautiful healing poem. Life is often so busy but healing slows us down and can cause us to be introspective and appreciate a healthy life. Thanks for sharing.
